Object description: State road Bundesstraße 2 (B2) München – Garmisch – Partenkirchen, bypass road of the municipality Oberau, The Oberau tunnel, Germany

  • double tube road tunnel with the total length of 5,90 km – driving part in the total length of 5,58 km (about 2,80 km – 2x) and cut&cover part in the total length of 312,00 m (about 160,00 m – 2x)
  • cross sections depending on the invert are 80,00 and 100,00 m2
  • 10 escape corridors (5 corridors for pedestrians and 5 rideable corridors)
  • axial distance of parallel tubes is 40 m in regular profile
  • tunnel portal excavation – 60 000,00 m3, total volume of mucking material – 530 000,00 m3, primary lining – shotcrete – 100 000,00 m3(including overbreak), concreting of the secondary lining 150 000,00m3 (including overbreak), reinforcement 7 600,00 t, 50 000 pcs of anchors, insulation – 160 000,00 m2

Construction technology:

  • NATM – drill and blast driving in the rock area (lime stone, dolomite) and driving by tunnel excavator in the flexible rock area
  • Driving works are excavated from the north portal (Eschenlohe side – in the tunnel profile RQ26t – 80,00/100,00m2).
